The Rush for Penalty
Finally, the Gunners were able to triumph once at the cursed Reebok. It had been quite a long while since Mr Genki's favourite Gunners snatched an away win from Bolton Wanderers. He was nevertheless disappointed with the poor quality in the penalties awarded to Arsenal! Gilberto and Baptista blasted them high and wide over the bar. Don't know if they rushed to take the penalty to try to get their names in the score sheet.
It's such a huge joy to watch the Gunners win. And indeed there's a price Mr Genki had paid for watching football at 5am.
It was 6:30am when Gunners sealed the win. It was not even day break yet. Mr Genki went back to trance-like state before waking up at 9:45am for the typical rush on his tutorial.
The clock strucked 12pm and some siren went off. Mr Genki then realised that it was the Total Defence Day siren. National Education issues aside, what was more important was Mr Genki suddenly remembered he has to be at some Subject Pool studies which would contribute to the overall grade of his Marketing Module!
ARGH! He frantically checked his Subject Pool timing online and thought he could still make it on time since he thought his subject pool starts at 1230pm (note the choice of word 'frantically' and 'thought').
And then came the rush! He changed hastily. He was living at the 10th storey of a good old HDB flat but chose to take the stairs to avoid wasting more waiting time for a lift. He flaged for a cab, board it and off he went. He walked very briskly to Experimental Lab 1 at Biz 2. His watch reads 1235pm.
Well he thought he could get away with being merely 5 mins late. But before that he realised that the people in the room gave him a bewildered stare and the in-charge told Mr Genki that he had mistaken. Unbeliveable. Mr Genki could not accept that initially but he knew it was pointless staying around.
What's left to do is to double check ifMr Genki had really mistaken. Indeed, it was a blooper! There goes my $6.90 cab fare. In addition, a penalty of 0.5hrs for missing the subject pool. I had rushed to realise my penalty in a sense. What an irony! A day of Sambal Brazilian blues and Pseudo-Japanese blues. 真是赔了夫人又折兵,福无双至,祸不单行啊!
Let's assume that this entry is posted on 15th Feb 2007 so that I can make the following statement:
Tomorrow will be a better day... Wait, I retract that. It MUST be a better day since it's the day when Mr Genki turns 22!
I Hope...
